The island of Murter with its extraordinary beauty of nature and the unusual diversity of landscapes offers over 80 km of bicycle trails, and a total of six trails are arranged and marked and are regularly maintained. They length of trails are from 5 to 20 kilometers with a height difference of up to 125 meters, which is also the highest point on the island. Each track is special, different, ... offers a ride along the sea and in the green interior of the island, each hiding some of its story and for each we have prepared GPS records and detailed descriptions to guide you in discovering new experiences.
Two national parks, Krka and Kornati, a multitude of islands and islets, cultural and historical monuments, numerous archaeological sites, protected landscapes, exciting towns both on the coast and in the countryside will provide you with countless opportunities for an active holiday. If you go for a ride in Šibenik's hinterland, you will discover ancient fortresses around the river Krka, archaeological sites Burnum, Bribirska Glavica and Danilo with remains dating from the prehistoric era, you will feel the spirit of the Dalmatian villages and experience the way of life as it once was.
Explore the mountain Dinara, with the highest peak in Croatia (1831 m), by taking a light walk or by cycling along the adrenaline-packed bicycle trails, and on the way visit the historical towns Knin and Drniš, and a unique hydrogeological monument of nature, the spring of the river Cetina.
Cycling along the trails of the Nature Park Vransko jezero (Lake Vrana) will enable you to see the rare bird species inhabiting this area, and you can continue your journey towards the island of Murter and experience the authenticity of small fishing villages. Passing by the centuries-old drywalls and olive groves, you will reach Tribunj and Vodice, where you will find a rich gastronomic offer. The rest of the way will take you to the pearl of Dalmatia - the Renaissance town of Šibenik, which is, with its 15th century Cathedral of St James (Katedrala sv. Jakova) protected by UNESCO, and with its fortresses, considered one of the most beautiful Mediterranean towns. We should not forget Primošten and Rogoznica – small fishing villages with numerous legends and tales.
With more than 2450 km of well-maintained routes in the region, you can enjoy the diverse offer – whether you want to cycle along the coast and enjoy the sea breeze, or take the countryside routes and get to know forest and mountain trails, vineyards and olive groves, or you want to experience high-adrenaline mountain trails and explore the canyons of the rivers Krka or Čikola, you can find all that and more in the Šibenik-Knin region. A mild Mediterranean climate, pleasant temperatures and relatively low rainfall make this region an ideal destination for an active holiday.
A large number of cycling events, various mountain bike races, themed bicycle events, XC marathons, Winter League for adults and children provide everyone, whether amateur or professional, big or small, with an opportunity to try their competitive ambitions.
