Kornati National Park

In the vicinity of Murter island, Kornati National Park is located so make sure to take the opportunity for visiting this unique area. Hundred of islands, islets and rocks make magical stone labirynth, which is best visited by boat. The biggest island is Kornat after which the archipelago had been named, and although it is uninhabited today, things were different in the past. Today, remains of the Byzantine fort and small church of Our Lady of Tarac prove that Kornat was once a populated and lively island. There are almost 10 marinas in the archipelago, together with the excellent restaurants, and scuba diving lovers must not miss visiting unique marine flora and fauna of the archipelago. So-called Kornati „crowns“ , i.e. high cliffs facing the open sea, situated on the outer islands of Kornati, are also a must-visit location.
